Brianne: App Repost
X where applicable:
New Trainer {} Seasoned Trainer {X} RTF {X} Team Rocket {} Gym Leader {} Elite Four {}
Region and Town of Origin: Bohren, Swiftriver City
Character's Pokemon, if not New: Jolteon, Houndoom, Skarmory, Donphan, Tangrowth, Kingdra
Character Personality: Brianne (who prefers to be called Bri and will get a little annoyed if people call her by her full name) enjoys playing the no-nonsense cop persona. She's extremely dedicated to her duty and follows the law to the utmost. When her plans don't go her way, she can get flustered and snappish, and while she likes talking to civilians about the job, she feels awkward around new trainers because they are often so young.
Bri respects those in charge and will go out of her way to attempt to impress her superiors, sometimes to her detriment. Some may say she tries too hard, but Bri would say that one can never try too hard. She runs through partners quickly because her nose-to-the-grindstone mentality wears them out and they can't keep up with her.
Pokemon, to Bri, are partners and friends. Any mistreatment of pokemon mashes her Bezerk Button, and once she gets her teeth into a good case it's very hard for her to shake them loose. Over the years she's developed a very strong bond with most of her pokemon, the notable exception being her Skarmory.
Because Bri looks and acts very tomboyish, she can be incredibly defensive about her femininity. Mistakenly calling her 'sir' is a very bad thing to do with her, as she will make a snap judgement and become cold toward that person from then on.
Character History: When Bri was young, she wanted to take the League challenge. Unfortunately, her family was not well off enough to put her through the academy in Swiftriver, nor could they spare her to travel halfway across the continent and receive a pokemon from Professor Willow. Her parents owned a small shop in one of the poorer areas of the city and needed Bri to help them manage it. She gave up on her dreams to help her family, but when she turned seventeen she joined the Pokemon Rangers in an attempt to fulfill it a different way.
All Rangers are given a partner pokemon, and Bri's partner was a Houndour she named Faust. He was a playful and cheerful pokemon despite his frightening appearance, and Bri enjoyed working with him. They learned to make their way in the world together and their personalities offset each other well - when Bri becomes too wrapped up in a case, Faust will go out of his way to make sure she takes some time to rest. Faust also enjoys intimidating poachers and people who are cruel to their pokemon, so Bri will often let him out of his pokeball during interrogations.
Bri's gung-ho attitude and dedication to her duty sent her shooting through the ranks until she was finally assigned to the Task Force, as the regular Rangers couldn't keep up with the many arrests she made. Although her arrest record is staggering, most of the crooks she nabs are small-time; trainers operating without a license or trainers with unlicensed endangered pokemon. She is waiting for her big break, the arrest that will net her a promotion.
RTF agents are given a team to help them solve cases, so none of the pokemon Bri trains are pokemon she caught herself. Despite this, and despite them technically being RTF property, the pokemon treat her as the only trainer they have ever known - the exception being her Skarmory, who has a very independant personality and will often take off on his own for hours.
